JAMES
Definition
A son of Zebedee and brother of John; one of the three favorite apostles. He was a fisherman, when he with his brother, John, were called by Jesus to be disciples. His apostolic labors were confined to Jerusalem and Judea. He was put to death by orders of King Agrippa. He was the first martyr among the apostles.
