JEHOIAKIM

Definition

King of Judah. This name was given by Pharaoh Necho to Eliakim, the son of Josiah, whom he made king in his brother Jehoahaz's stead. Later, he became subject to King Nebuchadnezzar and, tiring of paying tribute, ignored Jeremiah's advice, rebelled, and lost his life.
