THADDAEUS
Definition
(1) The patriarch Judah. (2) Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, one of the apostles and the treasurer of the first Christian community. He betrayed Christ for thirty pieces of silver, the price of a slave. Later, he returned the silver to the chief priests and elders and hanged himself. (3) One of the apostles and a son of James. He is also called Lebbaeus and Thaddaeus. (4) A relative of Jesus, was also called Juda.
