BOOK OF NAHUM
Definition
One of the twelve minor prophets of Judah in the seventh century B.C., probably during the reign of Hezekiah. The Book of Nahum consists of one poem of such eloquence that it places its author in the highest rank of Hebrew poets. Its theme is the coming punishment of Ninevah and the Assyrian empire for the cruel treatment of the Jews.
