SEA OF GALILEE

Definition

In Palestine is called the Sea of Chinnereth or Chinneroth. Also known as Lake of Gennasaret, Sea of Tiberias, or "the sea." It lies about twenty-seven miles east of the Mediterranean Sea. It is about fourteen miles long and from four to seven miles wide. Its surface is about six hundred feed below the level of the Mediterranean. It abounds in excellent fish of various kinds.
